The SECO 03084137 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining applications. It features a 3/16 inch (0.1875 inch) mill diameter, a 0.0100 inch corner radius, and 4 flutes with a variable helix to reduce chatter and improve surface finish. The AlTiN PVD coating extends tool life when cutting abrasive and heat-generating workpiece materials. At 2 inches overall length with a 3/8 inch length of cut, this is a short-reach, single-end tool suited for precision slot milling, profiling, and finishing passes where rigidity matters.
This end mill is engineered for stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials — workpiece categories classified as M, S, and H. It is capable of both roughing and finishing in a single tool, making it well-suited for job shops and production environments running difficult alloys. The right-hand cut, right-hand spiral flute geometry and centercutting capability allow plunge entry and full-slot engagement. The STR440.2 series targets applications where tool deflection and edge chipping are primary concerns.
Designed for use with standard straight-cylindrical toolholders accepting a 3/16 inch shank diameter. Suitable for CNC machining centers running stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials per material codes M, S, and H.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Seat the straight-cylindrical shank fully into a clean, undamaged toolholder bore and verify runout against the published TIR maximum of 0.0005 inches before first cut. Consult the machine tool builder and cutting tool data sheets for speeds, feeds, and depth-of-cut parameters appropriate to the workpiece material. Do not exceed the tool length-of-cut envelope; extended axial engagement beyond 3/8 inches is outside the designed working range of this tool.
