The SECO 03084136 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for high-performance material removal in demanding machining environments. Built to Series STR440.2 specifications, it features a 3/16 inch (0.1875 inch) cutting diameter, a 0.0100 inch corner radius, and a 4-flute, right-hand spiral geometry with a variable helix design. The AlTiN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and wear protection at elevated cutting speeds. The micrograin carbide substrate delivers toughness and edge retention when cutting difficult-to-machine materials. Licensed machinists and CNC tool-and-die professionals typically specify this end mill for precision finishing and roughing applications where edge stability and close dimensional tolerances are required.
This end mill is suited for machining stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and other hard materials in both roughing and finishing operations. The stub-length configuration and 3/16 inch length of cut make it appropriate for short-reach, high-rigidity setups on vertical or horizontal machining centers. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry. The straight-cylindrical shank mounts directly into standard toolholders compatible with 3/16 inch bore collets or end mill holders.
Designed for use with standard toolholders accepting a 3/16 inch straight-cylindrical shank. Primary material applications include stainless steel (ISO M), superalloys and titanium (ISO S), and hard materials (ISO H).
This tool is installed by machinists or CNC operators in a toolholder with a matching 3/16 inch bore; verify runout does not exceed the 0.0005 inch TIR maximum before cutting. Ensure the spindle and axis drives are fully stopped and the machine is in an e-stop or lockout state before tool changes. Do not exceed the published corner radius tolerance band when programming part radii, as overloading the corner will chip the edge. Coolant-through is not supported on this tool; use external flood or mist coolant where required by the workpiece material.
