The SECO 03084135 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for high-performance material removal in demanding machining environments. It features a 5/32 inch (0.1563 inch) cutting diameter, a 0.0100 inch corner radius, and four flutes with a variable helix design to reduce chatter and improve surface finish. The AlTiN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and wear protection at elevated cutting temperatures. The micrograin carbide substrate adds toughness and edge retention. This tool handles both roughing and finishing operations in a single setup, making it a practical choice for machinists working in production or job-shop environments.
This end mill is suited for cutting stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials — workpiece categories classified under ISO material codes M, S, and H. Its short-length-of-cut geometry, 15/32 inch LOC, and straight cylindrical shank are well matched to rigid toolholder setups where minimizing deflection is critical. The centercutting design allows direct plunge entry. Series STR440.2 positions this tool for applications where heat generation and tool life are primary concerns in difficult-to-machine alloys.
Designed for use with standard straight-bore cylindrical toolholders. Suitable for CNC machining centers and manual mills equipped to accept a 3/16 inch straight cylindrical shank. Rated for stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard material applications per the STR440.2 series designation.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians using an appropriate collet or end mill holder sized for a 3/16 inch shank diameter. Ensure the toolholder bore and shank are clean and free of chips before seating the tool. Verify runout against the listed TIR maximum of 0.0005 inch after clamping. Do not exceed the tool's rated depth of cut or apply coolant-through pressure, as this tool is not designed for coolant-through delivery.
