The SECO 03084134 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision material removal in demanding machining applications. Built to the STR440.2 series specification, it features a 5/32 inch (0.1563 inch) mill diameter, a 0.0100 inch corner radius, and four flutes with a variable helix profile to reduce chatter and improve chip evacuation. The AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) PVD coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life when cutting abrasive or work-hardening materials. The short flute length and straight-cylindrical shank make it compatible with standard toolholders used on CNC machining centers and manual mills.
This end mill is suited for roughing and finishing operations on stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials (ISO material groups M, S, and H). The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry, expanding its usefulness in slotting, profiling, and pocket milling. The 5/16 inch length of cut and 2 inch overall length are matched to short-reach applications where rigidity is critical, such as high-tolerance die and mold work or aerospace component machining. It installs in standard straight-bore toolholders without special adapters.

Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the tool from the toolholder. Verify runout against the stated TIR maximum of 0.0005 inch after seating to confirm proper holder engagement. Consult the machine tool manufacturer and applicable shop safety procedures for feeds, speeds, and depth-of-cut recommendations when working with superalloys and hard materials.
