The SECO 03084131 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for high-performance material removal in demanding machining applications. Built to Series STR440.2 specifications, it features a 1/8 inch diameter with a 0.0100 inch corner radius and a 1/4 inch length of cut. The 4-flute, single-end design incorporates a variable helix and an AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) PVD coating, which enhances heat and wear resistance at elevated cutting temperatures. At 1-1/2 inches overall length with a 1/8 inch straight-cylindrical shank, this tool is suited for use in standard toolholders. Licensed machinists and CNC tool room technicians are the primary installers and operators of this end mill.
This end mill is designed for both roughing and finishing operations in stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The short flute geometry and high helix style improve chip evacuation and reduce chatter in tight-tolerance work. Its centercutting capability allows plunge entry, making it adaptable for slot milling, profiling, and contour work on close-tolerance components common in aerospace, medical, and precision manufacturing environments.
Compatible with standard straight-cylindrical toolholders accepting a 1/8 inch shank. Intended for use in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines capable of accommodating the STR440.2 series geometry. Installation and operation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the toolholder and torque the collet or set screw to the toolholder manufacturer specification. Verify runout does not exceed the maximum TIR of 0.0005 inches before beginning the cut.
