The SECO 03083957 is a single-end square end mill designed for precision milling in hard materials, stainless steel, and high-temperature alloys. Built from micrograin solid carbide and coated with AlTiN, it delivers extended tool life and thermal resistance during high-speed cutting operations. The 3 mm cutting diameter and 4-flute design support efficient chip evacuation and surface finish quality. A variable helix geometry reduces harmonic vibration, improving stability in demanding cuts. This tool is part of the STR440M.2 series and is installed and operated by machinists and CNC programmers working in precision manufacturing environments.
This end mill is suited for finishing and semi-finishing operations in ferrous hard materials and stainless steel. It is center-cutting with a right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting direction, making it compatible with standard CNC milling machines and machining centers. The straight cylindrical shank seats directly into standard collet chucks or tool holders sized for a 6 mm shank. Typical applications include die and mold work, aerospace components, and precision part machining where tight tolerances and surface integrity are required.
Designed as an OEM-style tooling solution for CNC milling machines and machining centers equipped with collet chucks or shrink-fit tool holders accepting a 6 mm straight cylindrical shank. Part of the SECO STR440M.2 series, optimized for primary workpiece materials coded H, M, and S — hard materials, stainless steel, and high-temperature alloys.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool holder is clean and free of debris before seating the shank. Secure the tool to the manufacturer-specified clamping method for the collet or holder type in use. Verify runout does not exceed the maximum TIR of 0.0005 inches after installation before beginning the cut.
