The SECO 03083879 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill built for high-demand metal removal in stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and other hard materials. It carries a 3/4 inch diameter, a 1-1/2 inch length of cut, and a 0.0300 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration and extends tool life at the cutting edge. The AlTiN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and hardness at elevated cutting temperatures. With four flutes, a variable helix, and a high helix angle of 40 degrees, this tool balances chip evacuation and surface finish for both roughing and finishing operations. Licensed machinists and CNC operators use this end mill in production environments where tight tolerances on difficult materials are routine.
This end mill is suited for machining stainless steel, superalloys such as Inconel, titanium alloys, and other hard material classifications (ISO material codes M, S, and H). The single-end, centercutting design allows plunge entry as well as peripheral milling. Extended reach geometry with a 2-1/4 inch reach length and a Weldon flat shank accommodates setups where standard-reach tooling cannot reach the feature. It belongs to the STRN440.2 series and is intended for use in standard toolholders compatible with a 3/4 inch Weldon flat shank.
Designed for use in toolholders accepting a 3/4 inch Weldon flat shank, consistent with STRN440.2 series tooling standards for hard material and superalloy machining applications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified CNC machinist or toolroom technician. Seat the Weldon flat shank fully in a compatible toolholder and secure the set screw against the flat to prevent axial pullout. Verify runout does not exceed the 0.0005 inch TIR maximum before beginning a cut. Always confirm spindle speed and feed rate are appropriate for the workpiece material and depth of cut before engaging the tool.
