The SECO 03083870 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance metal removal in demanding machining applications. With a 3/8 inch cutting diameter, a 0.0200 inch corner radius, and four flutes in a high-helix spiral configuration, this tool is built for both roughing and finishing passes. The AlTiN PVD coating provides heat resistance and extended tool life in abrasive and hard materials. The single-end, centercutting design allows plunge entry, and the straight cylindrical shank measures 3/8 inch in diameter with a neck diameter of 0.3600 inch for extended reach clearance. It belongs to SECO series STRN440.2.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers and milling operations targeting stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The 40-degree variable helix geometry reduces harmonic chatter and improves chip evacuation in tough-to-machine workpiece materials. With a 3/4 inch length of cut, a 1-1/8 inch reach length, and a 3 inch overall length, it fits typical toolholder setups used in precision metalworking shops handling aerospace, medical, and general industrial components.
Designed for use with standard toolholders accepting a 3/8 inch straight cylindrical shank. Optimized for stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials as indicated by material application codes M, S, and H.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before mounting or removing the tool from the toolholder. Verify runout does not exceed the maximum TIR of 0.0005 inch after seating in the toolholder. Follow the toolholder manufacturer torque and clamping specifications when securing the shank.
