The SECO 03083833 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding materials including stainless steel, high-temperature alloys, and hardened materials. Part of the STB440.2 series, it features a 0.5 inch mill diameter, a 1 inch length of cut, and a 4-flute configuration with a variable helix angle of 40 degrees. The AlTiN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life in aggressive cutting conditions. Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and machine in a safe, locked-out state. Verify shank-to-holder fit and torque set screws to the holder manufacturer's specification using the appropriate hex key. Confirm runout does not exceed the maximum TIR of 0.0005 inches before beginning a cut. Follow your machine tool builder's guidelines for feeds, speeds, and depth of cut when working with hardened or high-temp alloy workpieces.
