The SECO 03083779 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding materials including stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. It features a 3/4 inch diameter, a 0.0300 inch corner radius, and four flutes with a variable high-helix geometry that supports both roughing and finishing operations in a single tool. The AlTiN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and wear life in elevated-temperature cutting environments. The micrograin carbide substrate adds toughness and edge stability under aggressive feed rates. This is a single-end, centercutting tool built to the STR440.2 series specification.
This end mill is suited for CNC machining centers running stainless steel components, aerospace superalloy parts, titanium structural work, and hardened steel applications. The 1-1/2 inch length of cut and 4 inch overall length make it practical for moderate-depth pockets and profiling passes. The Weldon flat shank provides positive drive engagement in toolholders. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction are standard for conventional CNC spindle setups. This tool is appropriate for job shops, aerospace production shops, medical component manufacturers, and die-mold operations where surface finish and tool life in difficult materials are critical.
Designed for use with standard Weldon flat-style toolholders accepting a 3/4 inch shank. Primary workpiece materials are stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials per SECO STR440.2 series application guidelines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the toolholder is clean and the Weldon flat set screw is properly engaged before running the spindle. Verify runout against the TIR maximum of 0.0005 inches after installation. Follow the machine tool manufacturer and tooling manufacturer recommendations for speeds, feeds, and depth of cut for the specific workpiece material before beginning a cut.
