The SECO 03080742 is an indexable insert drill designed for general-purpose drilling operations in metal-cutting applications. Built to SD522 series specifications, this drill accepts two indexable inserts and delivers a maximum drill depth of 3 inches at a 2xD depth-to-diameter ratio. The 1-1/2 inch cutting diameter and 1-1/2 inch flatted flange shank make it a direct-fit tooling choice for machining centers and CNC turning equipment. Coolant-through capability via axial concentric and radial ports supports chip evacuation and tool life in production drilling environments. Installation and setup are handled by machinists and CNC tooling technicians.
This indexable drill is suited for general-purpose drilling in production machining environments, including job shops and manufacturing facilities running steel and similar workpiece materials. The SD522 series platform accommodates SPGX12T3 and SCGX11T308 insert styles, giving operators flexibility in insert selection for different material grades and surface finish requirements. The flatted flange shank seats securely in compatible toolholders designed for the SD522 series. The modular connection size is R7-C. Coolant is delivered through the body, supporting continuous-cycle drilling at production feed rates.
Compatible with SD522 drill series toolholders. Accepts SPGX and SCGX insert styles, specifically insert size codes 12T3 and 11T308 (SPGX12T3 and SCGX11T308). Insert lock screw is C03508-T15P. Body side coolant hole thread size is 1/4 inch.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the control is in an e-stop or tool-change state before mounting or removing the drill body. Verify the toolholder and shank interface are clean and free of debris before seating the flatted flange shank. Confirm coolant-through connections are properly engaged before beginning a drilling cycle to prevent insert overheating.
