The SECO 03080546 is a steel-body indexable insert drill designed for general-purpose drilling operations in metalworking and machining environments. It accepts two indexable inserts and delivers a maximum drill depth of 4.5 inches at a 3xD depth-to-diameter ratio. The drill body measures 1.5 inches in diameter with a flatted and flanged straight shank of the same 1.5 inches diameter. Overall length is 8.628 inches. Coolant is delivered through the tool via axial concentric and radial ports, supporting consistent chip evacuation and heat management during drilling cycles. This tool is intended for use by machinists and CNC operators running production or job-shop drilling applications.
The 03080546 is suited for general-purpose through-hole and blind-hole drilling in steel and similar workpiece materials. The SD523 series body accepts SPGX12T3 and SCGX11T308 insert styles, giving operators flexibility in insert selection based on workpiece material and cutting conditions. The right-hand cutting direction and modular connection size R7-C make this drill compatible with standard spindle and toolholder setups common in CNC machining centers. The body side coolant port thread size is 1/4 inch for external coolant connections where applicable.
Designed for use with SD523 series drill bodies and compatible with SPGX12T3 and SCGX11T308 indexable inserts. Insert lock screw C03508-T15P is specified for this body. Modular connection size is R7-C.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine powered down and the spindle fully stopped.
