The SECO 03080514 is an indexable insert drill designed for general-purpose drilling in metal fabrication and machining applications. Built on the SD523 platform, this drill accepts two indexable inserts (SPGX or SCGX style) and delivers a maximum drill depth of 71.37mm (2.81 inches) with a 3xD depth-to-diameter ratio. The body is constructed from steel with a 1-inch Weldon Flat and Flange shank for secure tool holding in standard drill chucks and holders. Coolant is delivered axially through a concentric internal passage, supporting chip evacuation and thermal management during continuous drilling cycles. This tool is intended for installation and use by machinists and CNC tooling technicians.
The 03080514 is suited for production drilling operations where repeatable hole quality and insert indexability reduce downtime. With a nominal drill diameter of 23.8mm (0.9370 inches) and a maximum drill diameter of 24.80mm (0.9770 inches), this drill fits applications requiring near-1-inch bore diameters. The right-hand cutting direction and general-purpose performance rating make it appropriate for a wide range of ferrous and non-ferrous workpiece materials in both job shop and production environments. The modular R7 connection size supports use with compatible SECO tooling adapters.

Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before mounting or indexing inserts. Secure the Weldon Flat shank in a compatible holder to the tooling manufacturer's specified clamping procedure. Verify coolant passages are clear before operation to maintain proper through-coolant flow.
