The SECO 03064542 is a solid carbide turning insert with ANSI insert code WNMA432 and ISO insert code WNMA080402. It carries a TK1501 manufacturer grade and features a CVD-applied Duratomic coating combining TiCN, Al2O3, and Cr layers for high wear resistance across a range of workpiece materials. The insert has an 80-degree trigon (W) shape, a neutral hand orientation, a flat-top chip breaker, and a negative rake and side clearance geometry. With six available cutting edges and a 1/2 inch inscribed circle, this insert is suited for production turning, boring, and facing operations on steel, stainless steel, and cast iron. Licensed HVAC and machining trade professionals install this insert using compatible toolholders with clamp, pin, or lever-lock holding methods.
The SECO 03064542 is designed for multi-use machining applications including turning, boring, and facing. It performs on primary workpiece materials classified under ISO material codes P, M, and K, covering steel, stainless steel, and cast iron. Grade characteristics span high wear resistance to moderate wear resistance and toughness for P and M materials, and high wear resistance to high toughness for K-grade cast iron. The flat-top chip breaker geometry and chamfered and honed cutting edge style make it well suited for medium to roughing passes where controlled chip flow is a priority.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit insert for WNMA-series toolholders accepting a 1/2 inch inscribed circle, negative-rake, 80-degree trigon insert with a 3/16 inch thickness and lever-lock, clamp, or pin clamping.
Installation is performed by machinists or toolroom technicians following safe machine lockout and spindle-stop procedures before indexing or replacing inserts. Ensure the toolholder pocket and seating surfaces are clean and free of chips before seating the insert. Torque clamping screws to toolholder manufacturer specifications. Inspect cutting edge condition and coating integrity prior to each use.
