Built from solid carbide with a CVD-applied Duratomic multilayer coating — TiCN, Al2O3, and Cr — it delivers high wear resistance across a broad range of workpiece materials. The insert features an 80-degree diamond (rhombic) shape, a neutral hand orientation, a 0.0472-inch corner radius, and four usable cutting edges. The MR7 chip breaker geometry is optimized for roughing and medium machining operations, making it a practical choice where chip control and tool life are primary concerns.
This insert is suited for turning, facing, and boring operations in both roughing and medium-duty applications. Primary target materials include cast iron (K class), steel (P class), and stainless steel (M class), spanning high wear-resistance to moderate toughness demands. It mounts via clamp, pin, or lever-lock holding methods, covering most standard CNMG toolholders in production and job-shop environments.
