The SECO 03064482 is a CNMG432-MR7 indexable turning insert in grade TK1501, engineered for demanding material-removal applications on CNC lathes and turning centers. The insert features a CVD-applied Duratomic multilayer coating consisting of TiCN, Al2O3, and Cr, delivering a balance of wear resistance and toughness suited for interrupted and continuous cuts. The 80-degree diamond (rhombic) shape provides a strong cutting geometry, while the MR7 chip breaker is optimized for roughing and medium machining operations. With a 1/2-inch inscribed circle and a 1/32-inch corner radius, the insert is held via clamp, pin, or lever-lock toolholders.
This insert is designed for turning, facing, and boring operations on steel, stainless steel, and cast iron workpieces. The TK1501 Duratomic grade targets ISO material groups P, M, and K, covering applications from high wear-resistance to moderate-to-high toughness requirements. It is a negative-rake, neutral-hand insert with a T-Land cutting edge style, making it well suited for general-purpose roughing through medium finishing passes in production turning environments. Licensed machinists, toolroom operators, and CNC setup technicians are the primary installers and users.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard-stock turning insert for CNMG432 toolholders conforming to ANSI and ISO mounting standards. Compatible with clamp, pin, and lever-lock style toolholders accepting a negative-rake CNMG insert with a 0.2028-inch hole diameter.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC toolroom technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Seat the insert firmly against the toolholder pocket locating surfaces and verify the clamping mechanism is fully engaged before resuming cuts. Inspect the insert pocket for wear or debris before each insert change to maintain accurate seating and repeatable tool offset.
