The SECO 03064481 is a CNMG432-MF3 indexable turning insert with a TK1501 Duratomic CVD coating system consisting of TiCN, Al2O3, and Cr layers applied to a solid carbide substrate. Designed for negative rake, neutral-hand toolholders, this insert carries an 80-degree diamond shape, a 1/2-inch inscribed circle, and a 1/32-inch corner radius. The MF3 chip breaker geometry and chamfered-and-honed cutting edge are engineered for finishing and medium cuts. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working in production turning environments are the primary installers.
This insert is rated for boring, facing, and turning operations. Primary workpiece material is cast iron (ISO K), with secondary suitability for steel and stainless steel (ISO P and M). It is engineered for use in standard CNMG-style toolholders that accept clamp, pin, or lever-lock holding methods. The four usable cutting edges make it a cost-effective choice for high-volume turning cells running cast iron components in both light and moderate material removal scenarios.
Designed for CNMG-style negative-rake toolholders that accept a 1/2-inch inscribed circle insert with clamp, pin, or lever-lock retention. Suitable for cast iron as the primary workpiece material, with secondary application to steel and stainless steel. Material grades K10, K20, and K30 apply.
Insert indexing and replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine in a full stop, spindle off, and locked out per the facility lockout/tagout procedure. Inspect the toolholder seat and clamping components for wear or debris before seating the insert. Do not exceed the maximum depth of cut specification for the selected chip breaker and workpiece material. Torque clamping screws per the toolholder manufacturer instructions only.
