The SECO 03064477 is a CNMG432-M3 indexable turning insert manufactured from solid carbide and coated via CVD with a multilayer TiCN, Al2O3, and Cr Duratomic coating. It carries a TK1501 manufacturer grade, an 80-degree diamond insert shape, and a neutral hand orientation. The insert measures 12.90 mm (0.5079 inches) in length with a 1/2-inch inscribed circle and a 1/32-inch corner radius. It provides four usable cutting edges and is designed for professionals performing external and internal turning, boring, and facing operations on CNC lathes and machining centers.
This insert is primarily intended for cast iron machining and is also rated for use on steel and stainless steel workpieces. The M3 chip breaker geometry is suited for medium-range cutting conditions. The insert is held in place by a clamp, pin, or lever lock toolholder system and is used in production-level turning applications in both shop and job-shop environments. The chamfered and honed cutting edge style provides edge strength for interrupted or continuous cuts in K-grade and P/M-grade materials.
Designed for use in CNMG-style indexable turning toolholders that accept a 1/2-inch inscribed circle insert with a 0.2028-inch hole diameter and lever lock, clamp, or pin clamping. Applicable to boring, facing, and turning operations per ANSI and ISO toolholder standards for CNMG432 inserts.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Seat the insert fully against the toolholder pocket and pocket shim before engaging the clamping mechanism. Inspect the pocket and clamping hardware for wear or debris before each insert index.
