The SECO 03064403 is a solid carbide turning insert in the WNMA series, designed for precision metal cutting in CNC turning, boring, and facing operations. It carries the industry-standard designation WNMA433 and is manufactured to ANSI and ISO standards. The insert features a CVD-applied Duratomic multilayer coating — TiCN, Al2O3, and Cr — engineered to extend tool life in abrasive and hard workpiece materials. With an 80-degree trigon shape, a neutral hand orientation, and a chamfered and honed cutting edge style, it delivers consistent performance at negative rake angles across a range of metal removal applications. The insert is suited for machinists and toolroom professionals running production or job-shop turning cycles.
This insert is intended for use in turning centers and CNC lathes where clamp, pin, or lever-lock toolholders accept the WNMA insert style. Primary application material is cast iron, with secondary suitability for hard materials. The multi-use design supports boring, facing, and turning operations in a single insert geometry, reducing the number of tool changes required during a machining cycle. Material grades K05, K10, and K15 indicate optimal performance in fine to medium cuts on cast iron and similar short-chip materials.
Designed for WNMA-style toolholders that accept a 1/2-inch inscribed circle insert with clamp, pin, or lever-lock holding. ISO code WNMA080412. Industry standard number WNMA433. Verify toolholder clearance code N and tolerance code M compatibility before installation.
Installation is performed by qualified CNC machinists or toolroom technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or replacing inserts. Confirm the toolholder pocket is clean and free of chips before placing the insert, as debris under the insert seat affects depth-of-cut accuracy and edge life. Do not exceed the maximum depth of cut specified for the holder and workpiece material combination.
