The SECO 03046347 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in ferrous and hard materials. The bit features a 7/16 inch (0.4375 inch) diameter, a 140-degree point angle for improved chip control and reduced walking on entry, and a TiAlN coating that extends tool life by increasing heat and wear resistance. At 4.6457 inches overall length with a 2.7953-inch flute length, this is a standard jobber-length geometry suited for production and maintenance drilling applications. Right-hand spiral flutes evacuate chips efficiently in typical through-hole and blind-hole operations.
This drill bit is engineered for use in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and other hard materials, corresponding to ISO material groups P, M, K, and H. It is well suited for CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual machine setups where a straight-cylindrical shank is required. The 6xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports drilling depths up to 2.7953 inches. No coolant-through capability is present, so flood or mist coolant delivery at the tool perimeter is recommended when drilling hard alloys.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and similar equipment accepting a straight-cylindrical shank in the 0.4000 to 0.5000 inch diameter range, targeted at drilling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and other hard materials (ISO P, M, K, H classifications).
Installation is performed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals. Secure the shank fully in a compatible drill chuck or collet holder and verify runout before production use. Power down or de-energize the machine spindle completely before changing tooling. Because this bit lacks coolant-through capability, apply external flood or mist coolant to manage heat buildup when drilling hard alloys at rated parameters.
