The SECO 03046339 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding workpiece materials. Ground to a 140-degree point angle with a TiAlN coating, this bit is built for use in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and other hard materials where tool life and hole quality are critical. The two-flute, right-hand spiral configuration promotes efficient chip evacuation. At 3.5827 inches overall length with a 2.0866-inch flute length, it fits the jobber-length standard and is suited for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual drilling operations where a straight-cylindrical shank is required. It belongs to the SD205A series and conforms to ANSI standards.
This bit is intended for production and job-shop environments where ferrous and hard materials are regularly machined. The SD205A series targets applications demanding consistent tolerances and extended tool life. The 7xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports moderate-depth holes without coolant-through capability, making it appropriate for applications where flood or mist coolant is applied externally. It is sold individually and sized at 5/16 inches (0.3125 inches) diameter, making it a direct fit for standard drill chucks and collets accepting the 0.3150-inch straight-cylindrical shank.
Designed as an OEM-compatible jobber-length drill bit in the SECO SD205A series, compatible with primary workpiece material codes P, M, K, and H covering steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hard materials. Accepts standard drill chucks and ER collets sized for a 0.3150-inch straight-cylindrical shank.
Installation and operation should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with carbide tooling. Secure the shank fully in the chuck or collet and verify runout before cutting, as carbide is brittle and sensitive to lateral loading. No coolant-through channel is present on this bit, so external flood or mist coolant should be applied as needed to manage heat during operation. Inspect the cutting edge for chipping before each use and replace immediately if damage is detected.
