The SECO 03046337 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding materials. It carries a TiAlN coating and a 140-degree split-point geometry that reduces walking and cutting force at entry. The bit measures 0.2813 inches (9/32 inch) in diameter with an overall length of 3.5827 inches and a flute length of 2.0866 inches. The straight-cylindrical shank at 0.3150 inches diameter seats securely in standard drill chucks or collet holders. This tool is part of the SD205A series and is intended for use by machinists, toolroom technicians, and maintenance mechanics working with ferrous and hard materials.
The 03046337 is rated for drilling in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and other hard materials. It follows a 7xD flute-to-diameter ratio and a regular spiral with two flutes for effective chip evacuation in through-hole and blind-hole applications. The bit conforms to ANSI standards and carries an m7 diameter tolerance, making it suitable for precision hole work in production and job-shop environments alike. It does not feature coolant-through capability, so external coolant or cutting fluid should be used when drilling heat-sensitive alloys or running at elevated speeds.
Part of the SECO SD205A series, this drill bit is designed for use with standard drill chucks and collet systems accepting a 0.3150-inch straight-cylindrical shank. It is suited for CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual machines configured for jobber-length carbide tooling.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Secure the shank fully in the chuck or collet and verify runout before cutting. This bit does not support coolant-through delivery, so apply external cutting fluid appropriate to the workpiece material. Inspect the cutting edges and coating condition before each use and replace the bit at the first sign of chipping or excessive wear to avoid workpiece damage.
