The SECO 03046289 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit from the SD205A series, designed for precision hole-making in demanding production environments. It features a 16.40 mm cutting diameter, a 140-degree point angle for accurate self-centering, and a TiAlN (titanium aluminum nitride) coating that extends tool life by reducing heat buildup and surface wear. With a straight-cylindrical shank and right-hand spiral fluting, this drill is built for use in CNC machining centers and manual drill presses where consistent, repeatable hole quality is required. It is intended for installation by machinists and tool-room professionals.
This drill is suited for cutting steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and other hard materials classified under ISO material groups P, M, K, and H. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and 93.00 mm flute length support deep-hole drilling at a maximum drilling depth of 71.00 mm without coolant-through capability. The straight-cylindrical shank with an 18.00 mm shank diameter fits standard collet chucks and drill chucks rated for that bore size, making it compatible with a wide range of machine tool setups in job shops and production facilities.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use solid carbide jobber drill for machining centers and drill presses that accept an 18.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for workpiece materials in ISO groups P (steel), M (stainless steel), K (cast iron), and H (hard materials) as specified by the manufacturer.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following standard machine tool safety procedures. Power down and lock out the machine before securing or removing the drill bit from the toolholder. Ensure the collet or drill chuck is rated for the 18.00 mm shank diameter and that the shank is fully seated and clamped before operation. No coolant-through capability is present on this tool, so appropriate external coolant or dry-cutting conditions should be selected based on the workpiece material.
