The SECO 03046284 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance hole-making in demanding materials. Built to the SD205A series, it features a 16.00 mm diameter, a 140-degree split point angle, and a TiAlN coating that extends tool life under elevated cutting temperatures. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 16.00 mm in diameter and 48.00 mm in length, with an overall length of 133.00 mm (5.24 inches). Right-hand spiral flutes clear chips efficiently, making this drill well-suited for production and maintenance machining environments where precision and tool longevity matter.
This drill bit is intended for use on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and other hard materials, corresponding to ISO workpiece material codes P, M, K, and H. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and 83.00 mm flute length support a maximum drilling depth of 63.00 mm (3.27 inches). It is appropriate for CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual machine tools where a straight-cylindrical shank is compatible. No coolant-through capability is present, so external or flood coolant application is typical for extended production runs in harder workpiece materials.

Installation is performed by machinists or tool-and-die technicians on CNC or manual machine tools. Ensure the machine spindle is fully powered down and locked out before changing tooling. Secure the shank firmly in the collet or drill chuck to the tool manufacturer recommended clamping torque for the holder type in use. Inspect the cutting edges and coating condition before each use; carbide tooling is brittle and should not be dropped or contacted with hard surfaces during handling.
