The SECO 03046273 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit from the SD205A series, designed for high-performance drilling in demanding metal-cutting applications. It features a 140-degree point angle for reduced thrust and improved self-centering on entry, paired with a TiAlN (titanium aluminum nitride) coating that extends tool life under elevated cutting temperatures. The drill measures 14.90 mm in cutting diameter with a 133.00 mm overall length (approximately 5.24 inches) and is configured with a right-hand, spiral flute geometry. Two flutes and a standard point type make it well-suited for general-purpose production drilling. A straight-cylindrical shank with a 16.00 mm shank diameter ensures secure seating in standard drill chucks and toolholders.
This drill is intended for professional machining environments where close-tolerance hole-making is required in ferrous and hard materials. Typical applications include drilling into steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and other hard materials classified under ISO material groups P, M, K, and H. With a flute-to-diameter ratio of 5xD and a maximum drilling depth of 83.00 mm (approximately 3.27 inches), it fits production and job-shop drilling operations on CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual mills. Coolant-through capability is not featured on this model, so external or flood coolant is recommended for deep-hole or high-speed applications.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement within the SECO SD205A series for drilling applications in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hard materials. Compatible with any machine spindle or toolholder accepting a 16.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Power down and lock out the machine before inserting or removing the drill from the toolholder. Ensure the shank is fully seated and the collet or chuck is torqued to the toolholder manufacturer specification before operation. Inspect the cutting edges for chipping prior to each use, as carbide tooling is brittle and sensitive to lateral shock loads.
