The SECO 03046226 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit engineered for high-performance drilling in demanding materials. It features a TiAlN coating that extends tool life by resisting heat and wear at elevated cutting speeds. The 140-degree point angle reduces thrust and improves centering on entry, making it well suited for harder workpiece materials. With an overall length of 118.00 mm (4.6492 inches) and a flute length of 71.00 mm (2.7974 inches), this two-flute, right-hand spiral drill is designed for consistent, accurate hole production in production and job-shop environments. It carries an ANSI specification designation and is part of the SD205A series.
This drill is rated for use in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and other hard materials, corresponding to material codes P, M, K, and H. It is suited for CNC machining centers and drill presses where tight tolerances and repeatable hole quality are required. The straight-cylindrical shank with a 12.00 mm (0.4728-inch) diameter fits standard toolholders and collet chucks. The 6xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports deeper drilling passes relative to the bit diameter, reducing the need for peck cycles on moderate-depth holes.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and drill presses accepting a 12.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for drilling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hard materials per material group codes P, M, K, and H. Part of the SECO SD205A series.
Installation and operation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician familiar with cutting tool setup. Before mounting, verify the toolholder or collet is clean, undamaged, and properly sized for a 12.00 mm shank. Secure the shank to the recommended clamping depth and confirm runout is within acceptable limits before beginning a cut. Do not exceed the recommended maximum drilling depth of 56.00 mm (2.7974 inches) without reconsidering cycle parameters.
