The SECO 03046202 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit from the SD205A series, designed for precision hole-making in demanding metalworking applications. It features a 140-degree split point, TiAlN (titanium aluminum nitride) coating, and a right-hand spiral flute geometry that promotes chip evacuation and reduces heat buildup at the cutting edge. The 8.00 mm cutting diameter is carried on a 10.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank, and the overall length measures 103.00 mm (4.058 inches). This drill is installed and operated by machinists, tool-and-die professionals, and maintenance technicians working on CNC or manual drilling equipment.
This drill bit is suited for drilling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and other hard materials in both production and job-shop environments. The 6xD flute-to-diameter ratio and two-flute spiral design support through-hole and blind-hole operations in these material groups. The ANSI-standard geometry and m7 diameter tolerance make it a reliable fit for close-tolerance applications where hole quality and repeatability are priorities. It is appropriate for use in residential, commercial, and industrial maintenance contexts wherever ferrous and hard-material drilling is required.
The SD205A series is rated for primary workpiece material codes P, M, K, and H, corresponding to steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hard materials. Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct substitute for SD205A series drill bits in the 8.00-9.00 mm diameter range.
This drill bit is installed by machinists and maintenance technicians in CNC machining centers, drill presses, or manual machines equipped with an appropriate chuck or collet. Ensure the spindle and workholding are fully stopped and de-energized before changing tooling. Verify chuck or collet runout before operation to preserve the m7 diameter tolerance. Coolant-through is not supported on this tool; use external coolant or cutting fluid as appropriate for the workpiece material.
