The SECO 03046200 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding materials. It features a TiAlN coating and a 140-degree point angle suited for aggressive entry into hard workpieces. The drill measures 8.00 mm in diameter with an overall length of 91.00 mm (3.5854 inches) and a flute length of 53.00 mm (2.0882 inches). The straight-cylindrical shank and right-hand spiral flute geometry make this a direct-mount, two-flute drill for use in CNC machining centers and rigid drilling setups. It carries the SD205A series designation and meets ANSI standards.
This drill is intended for drilling operations in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and other hard materials classified under ISO material codes P, M, K, and H. Its 7xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports moderate-depth holes up to 43.00 mm (2.0882 inches). It is well suited for production machining environments where consistent hole tolerance and tool life in ferrous and hard materials are priorities. The m7 diameter tolerance on the shank ensures a predictable fit in standard collet and drill chuck toolholding systems.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct substitute within the SECO SD205A series for 8.00 mm diameter drilling applications in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hard materials (ISO codes P, M, K, H).
Installation and operation of this drill bit should be performed by qualified machinists following applicable shop safety procedures. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before installing or removing tooling. Ensure the toolholder collet or chuck is clean and undamaged before seating the straight-cylindrical shank. Do not exceed the manufacturer-rated maximum drilling depth of 43.00 mm without verifying chip clearance and coolant strategy.
