The SECO 03046161 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding materials. Built to SD205A series specifications, it features a 4.60 mm diameter, a 140-degree split-point geometry, and a TiAlN (titanium aluminum nitride) coating that extends tool life in abrasive and high-temperature cutting conditions. The two-flute, right-hand spiral design promotes efficient chip evacuation and stable cutting action. With an overall length of 74.00 mm and a flute length of 34.00 mm, this bit is suited for precision drilling where tight tolerances and consistent hole quality are required. It is used by machinists, toolroom technicians, and CNC operators working in metal fabrication and production environments.
This drill bit is engineered for use in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and other hard materials, covering ISO material groups P, M, K, and H. The 6xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports drilling depths up to 29.00 mm in typical applications. The straight-cylindrical shank with a 6.00 mm diameter seats securely in standard drill chucks and collet holders, making it compatible with both manual drill presses and CNC machining centers. It does not require coolant-through capability, making it straightforward to deploy on conventional setups. Diameter tolerance is held to m7 for consistent fit and repeatable results across production runs.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct substitute for SD205A series solid carbide jobber drills; compatible with any drill press, CNC machining center, or hand-held power tool equipped with a chuck or collet accepting a 6.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank.
Installation and use of this drill bit should be performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians familiar with cutting tool setup and machine operation. Secure the shank fully in the chuck or collet to the manufacturer-specified gripping depth before use. Inspect the cutting edges and coating condition before each use; discard or return for resharpening if chipping or coating degradation is observed. Follow all applicable machine guarding requirements and wear appropriate PPE including eye protection during drilling operations.
