The SECO 03043598 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining environments. It features a 1/4 inch mill diameter, a 0.0322 inch corner radius, and an AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) coating that extends tool life in high-temperature cutting conditions. With 2 straight flutes and a right-hand cutting direction, this single-end tool is suited for light-depth finishing passes and contour work where edge protection and dimensional accuracy are critical. The 3-1/2 inch overall length and 1/4 inch cylindrical shank are standard fitment for most vertical machining centers and CNC mills. Machinists and toolroom professionals are the typical end users.
This end mill is built for extended-reach applications requiring a narrow neck profile. The neck diameter measures 0.2180 inches with a 1-3/4 inch reach length, allowing access into deeper pockets and cavities without deflection-inducing shank contact. The 0.0140 inch length of cut and 0 degree helix angle make this tool specifically suited to straight-wall, low-feed finishing work in hardened steels, stainless, and other abrasion-resistant alloys where the AlTiN coating delivers meaningful thermal protection.
Designed for use in standard 1/4 inch collets and end mill holders on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills. Part of the SECO SN200R series of extended-reach corner radius end mills.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists following standard tool-change procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before loading or unloading tooling. Seat the 1/4 inch cylindrical shank fully into the collet or end mill holder and torque the retention nut to the tool holder manufacturer specification. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production cut, particularly given the extended-reach geometry of this tool.
