The SECO 03007658 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding machining environments. Built from micrograin carbide stock and coated with AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride), it handles elevated cutting temperatures and abrasive workpiece materials. The tool features a 3/4 inch cutting diameter, a 1-3/4 inch length of cut, and a 38-degree helix angle. Six spiral flutes provide improved chip evacuation and surface finish compared to lower-flute-count tools. Machinists and CNC operators install this end mill in milling machines, machining centers, and CNC routers for profiling, slotting, and peripheral milling operations.
The 03007658 is suited for milling ferrous and non-ferrous metals, hardened steels, and other abrasive materials where heat resistance and edge retention are critical. The straight-cylindrical 3/4 inch shank fits standard ER and side-lock toolholders. With a variable index geometry, the tool reduces harmonic chatter during aggressive cuts, making it a practical choice for production environments where cycle times and tool life both matter. The 4 inch overall length keeps the reach-to-diameter ratio manageable for most standard milling applications.
Part of the SECO S638 series. Designed for use in standard 3/4 inch straight-bore toolholders on CNC milling machines and machining centers.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC operators. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the toolholder and torque the retention mechanism to the toolholder specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear on carbide tooling.
