The SECO 03007648 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for demanding metal removal in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium. It carries a 0.5 inch diameter with a 0.0600 inch corner radius and runs 6 flutes in a right-hand spiral at a 38-degree medium helix angle. The tool is coated with AlTiN via a PVD process, providing thermal resistance and extended tool life in high-temperature cutting environments. It is single-end, centercutting, and suitable for both roughing and finishing passes. Licensed machinists and CNC programmers will recognize the S638R series as a close-pitch design built for productive cuts in difficult materials.
This end mill fits stub-length applications where rigidity is a priority. The 1.25 inch length of cut and 3 inch overall length make it well suited for milling slots, pockets, profiles, and contoured surfaces in ferrous and exotic alloy workpieces. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry where required. It is intended for use with standard straight-cylindrical toolholders and collet chucks in CNC machining centers handling P, M, K, and S material groups as defined by ISO classification.

Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before inserting or removing the tool from its holder. Confirm runout does not exceed the rated TIR maximum of 0.0005 inches after seating in the toolholder. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer recommended speeds and feeds for the target workpiece material and coating type.
