The SECO 03007646 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in ferrous and hard-to-machine workpiece materials. It features a 0.5-inch diameter, a 1.25-inch length of cut, and a 0.0150-inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge and extends tool life in demanding applications. The AlTiN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and hardness at elevated cutting temperatures. With 6 flutes in a close-pitch spiral configuration and a 38-degree medium helix angle, this end mill handles both roughing and finishing passes in a single tool. It is center-cutting, right-hand cutting, and right-hand flute direction, making it suitable for plunge entry and complex toolpaths.
The 03007646 is engineered for use on CNC machining centers and milling machines in job shops, production shops, and aerospace or precision manufacturing environments. Its primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium — material codes P, M, K, and S. The straight-cylindrical shank mounts directly into standard toolholders. The stub length type and close pitch make it well-suited for rigid setups where chatter control and dimensional accuracy are critical. This tool is appropriate for professional machinists and CNC operators working in high-demand production or precision environments.
Designed for use with standard toolholders accepting a 0.5-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Rated for steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium workpiece materials (material codes P, M, K, S). Part of the SECO S638R series.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC operators. Secure the shank fully in a clean, properly sized toolholder and verify runout does not exceed the 0.0005-inch TIR maximum before running. Confirm spindle speed, feed rate, and depth of cut are set per the applicable cutting data for the workpiece material before engaging the tool. Do not exceed the rated length of cut of 1.25 inches to avoid deflection or premature edge failure.
