The SECO 03007645 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding metalworking applications. With a 0.5000 inch mill diameter and a 1.25 inch length of cut, it delivers precise material removal in ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The 6-flute, right-hand spiral configuration improves chip evacuation and supports higher feed rates compared to lower-flute-count tools. An AlTiN coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life at elevated cutting temperatures. The 38-degree helix angle promotes smooth cutting action and reduces vibration. This end mill is installed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals working with CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
The 03007645 is suited for finish and semi-finish milling operations on steel, stainless steel, and hardened alloys where surface quality and dimensional accuracy are critical. The single-end, center-cutting design allows plunge entry and peripheral milling in the same operation. The variable index geometry helps suppress chatter during side milling and slotting passes. A straight-cylindrical 0.5000 inch shank fits standard ER and side-lock toolholders used in production and job-shop environments alike.
Designed as a standard OEM-style replacement or direct-use solid carbide end mill in the SECO S638 series, compatible with 0.5000 inch straight-cylindrical toolholders on CNC and manual milling machines.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in an e-stop or lockout state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully in the toolholder to the recommended gauge-line depth and torque the retention mechanism per the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production cut to avoid premature edge wear or dimensional error.
