The SECO 03007643 is a 6-flute, solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance metal removal in demanding machining applications. It carries a 3/8-inch cutting diameter and a 0.0150-inch corner radius, with a 1-inch length of cut and a 2.5-inch overall length. The tool is coated with AlTiN via a PVD process, providing thermal resistance and extended tool life at elevated cutting speeds. A 38-degree medium helix and close-pitch flute geometry support both roughing and finishing passes. Centercutting capability allows plunge entry. The straight cylindrical shank measures 3/8 inch in diameter, fitting standard toolholders used in CNC milling operations.
This end mill is suited for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium in professional shop and production environments. Its stub-length profile and right-hand cutting and flute direction make it appropriate for rigid setups where tool deflection must be minimized. It is a single-end tool from the SECO S638R series, intended for use with standard toolholders in vertical and horizontal machining centers. Machinists working on aerospace, die-and-mold, and general metalworking applications will find this geometry well matched to tight-tolerance finishing and controlled roughing in hard and abrasion-resistant materials.
Designed for use with standard straight-bore toolholders accepting a 3/8-inch cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece material codes P, M, K, and S correspond to steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and superalloys and titanium. Part of the SECO S638R series.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the tool from the toolholder. Confirm shank seating depth and toolholder runout before initiating cuts; maximum TIR for this tool is 0.0005 inch. Do not exceed the toolholder manufacturer's recommended clamping torque specifications, and verify coolant-through is not required, as this tool does not support through-spindle coolant.
