The SECO 03002411 is a solid carbide milling insert in the XOMX-06 series, manufactured to grade MS2050 with a dual-layer TiAlN and NbN PVD coating. The parallelogram-shaped insert features a positive rake geometry at 20.2 degrees and a honed cutting edge style, delivering controlled chip evacuation and reduced cutting forces in demanding milling operations. With 2 cutting edges, a corner radius of 0.40 mm (0.0157 inches), and a maximum depth of cut of 0.2165 inches, this insert is engineered for precision work in difficult-to-machine materials. The micrograin carbide substrate provides toughness and edge stability under high-temperature cutting conditions.
This insert is designed primarily for milling superalloys and titanium, with secondary suitability for steel and stainless steel. Its screw-held single-sided design and right-hand orientation make it a fit for high-precision milling applications in aerospace, medical, and energy sector machining. The M05 chip breaker geometry is optimized for medium cutting conditions. Licensed machinists and CNC tooling specialists typically specify this insert for use in compatible cutter bodies requiring the XOMX-06 insert format.
Compatible with cutter series R217 and 220.69-06. ANSI and ISO code XOMX060204R-M05. Insert size code 060204 within the XOMX-06 series format.
Installation is performed by qualified CNC machinists or tooling technicians. Ensure the cutter body is fully de-energized and spindle is locked before seating or replacing inserts. Use the correct torque wrench and manufacturer-specified clamping screw to secure the insert without over-torquing the screw seat. Verify insert orientation and seating before resuming cutting operations.
