The SECO 02968290 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in steel and cast iron applications. With an 8 mm cutting diameter, 8 mm length of cut, and a 4 mm corner radius, this single-end tool delivers both roughing and finishing capability in one pass. The HXT coating extends tool life in demanding ferrous materials. Two right-hand spiral flutes with a medium helix angle promote efficient chip evacuation and stable cutting action. The tool features an extended-reach design with a 16 mm reach length and a reduced neck diameter of 7.40 mm, allowing access to deeper features without sacrificing rigidity.
This end mill is suited for CNC machining centers and milling operations on steel and cast iron workpieces, including both roughing passes and finish profiling. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry, making it applicable to pocketing, contouring, and slotting operations. The straight-cylindrical shank with h5 tolerance ensures consistent tool holding in standard collet or end mill holders. It is part of the JH112 series, which is engineered for general-purpose precision milling in production environments.

Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer's runout and tool projection specifications. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in an e-stop or lockout state before changing tools. Verify shank seating depth and holder clamping torque per the tool holder manufacturer's guidelines. Do not exceed the manufacturer's recommended cutting parameters for the workpiece material grade.
