The SECO 02960855 is a CCMT432-M3 style indexable turning insert manufactured from solid carbide with a CVD-applied Duratomic multilayer coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and Cr. It carries manufacturer grade TP1501 and is designed for external and internal turning, facing, and boring operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. The insert features an 80-degree diamond shape with a 0.5000-inch inscribed circle, a 1/32-inch (0.0315-inch) corner radius, and a 7-degree relief angle. Two usable cutting edges are provided per insert. Installation is performed by licensed machinists and CNC operators working in production or job-shop environments.
This insert is suited for primary machining of steel (ISO material group P) and secondary applications in cast iron and hard materials (ISO groups K and H). The M3 chip breaker geometry and chamfered-and-honed cutting edge style make it appropriate for light to medium roughing and semi-finishing passes. Applications include boring, facing, and turning across a range of part geometries. The insert conforms to ANSI and ISO standards under ISO code CCMT120408-M3 and industry standard number CCMT432-M3.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard production insert for CCMT432 screw-on style turning toolholders conforming to ANSI and ISO CCMT insert seating specifications. Primary workpiece material is steel (P10, P20 material grades); secondary workpiece materials include cast iron and hard materials. Multi-use application covers boring, facing, and turning.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Shut down spindle rotation and confirm the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key to seat the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer's specified torque range. Inspect the insert pocket for debris or damage before seating a new insert to ensure proper support and edge alignment.
