The SECO 02960845 is a solid carbide turning insert carrying the CCMT433-M3 geometry and TP2501 manufacturer grade. It features a CVD-applied Duratomic multilayer coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and Cr, designed to extend tool life and maintain edge stability during continuous and interrupted cuts. The insert has an 80-degree diamond shape with a positive rake, a 3/64 inch corner radius, and a 1/2 inch inscribed circle. Two cutting edges are available per insert. Primary target workpiece material is steel, with secondary suitability for stainless steel and cast iron. CNC lathe operators and tool-room machinists install this insert in compatible CCMT toolholders for high-productivity metal removal operations.
This insert is suited for external and internal applications including turning, facing, and boring on CNC and manual lathes. The M3 chip breaker geometry is optimized for medium-depth finishing and semi-finishing passes on steel components. The neutral hand orientation allows use in both right- and left-hand toolholders that accept CCMT-style inserts. Material grades P10, P20, P30, and P35 cover a broad range of steel cutting conditions from light finishing to moderate roughing. The insert meets both ANSI and ISO standards and carries the ISO code CCMT120412-M3.

Installation is performed by machinists or CNC toolroom technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or replacing inserts. Use the manufacturer-specified torx or hex key to snug the clamping screw to the toolholder specification; do not overtighten, as this can chip the insert or damage the toolholder pocket. Inspect the toolholder pocket and seating surfaces for chips or debris before installing a new insert edge.
