Manufactured from solid carbide with a CVD-applied Duratomic multilayer coating (TiCN, Al2O3, and Cr), it carries a TP2501 manufacturer grade rated for P10 through P35 material grades. The insert features an 80-degree trigon (W) shape with a neutral hand orientation, a 0.5000-inch inscribed circle, and a 1/32-inch (0.0315-inch) corner radius. With 6 cutting edges and a chamfered-and-honed cutting edge style paired with the MF5 chip breaker geometry, this insert is suited for finishing and semi-finishing passes where chip control and edge stability matter.
This insert is intended for use in CNC turning centers, boring bars, and facing operations in production and job-shop environments. It is primarily applied to steel workpieces but also handles stainless steel and cast iron.
