The SECO 02960569 is a SNMG643-M5 series indexable turning insert designed for general-purpose metal cutting in production machining environments. It is manufactured from carbide substrate and coated with a TiCN, Al2O3, and Cr multilayer stack via CVD, under SECO's Duratomic coating classification. The insert features a 3/4 inch inscribed circle, a 3/64 inch (0.0472 inch) corner radius, and a square 90-degree geometry with a negative rake angle. The M5 chip breaker geometry and chamfered and honed cutting edge style are suited for stable, controlled chip formation across a range of cutting depths up to 0.7008 inch. Licensed machinists and CNC tooling technicians are the typical end users.
This insert is rated for primary use on steel workpieces (ISO material code P, grades P10 through P35) and is also applicable to stainless steel (M) and cast iron (K) as secondary workpiece materials. Multi-use application coverage includes turning, facing, and boring operations. The insert is sized at 3/4 inch in length and width, with a thickness of 1/4 inch and a hole diameter of 0.3118 inch. It conforms to both ANSI and ISO standards, with the ISO designation SNMG190612-M5. Sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 10 units.
