It features a solid carbide substrate with a Duratomic CVD multilayer coating — TiCN, Al2O3, and Cr — in the TP2501 grade, targeting steel, stainless steel, and cast iron workpiece materials. The insert has an 80-degree diamond shape (C), a negative rake geometry, and a 0-degree relief angle (clearance code N). The inscribed circle measures 0.5000 inches, the corner radius is 0.0157 inches (1/64 inch), and the insert thickness is 0.1874 inches (3/16 inch). The M5 chip breaker geometry with a chamfered and honed cutting edge style supports medium-range material grades P10 through P35.
