The SECO 02960452 is a CNMG432-MR7 indexable turning insert manufactured from solid carbide and finished with a CVD-applied Duratomic multilayer coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and Cr. Designated grade TP2501, it carries an 80-degree diamond shape with a negative rake angle and a T-Land cutting edge style. The inscribed circle measures 1/2 inch (0.5000 inches), corner radius is 1/32 inch (0.0315 inches), and insert thickness is 3/16 inch (0.1874 inches). With four usable cutting edges per insert, it is suited for production turning operations where tool change frequency and cost-per-edge matter. This insert complies with both ANSI and ISO dimensional standards and carries ISO code CNMG120408-MR7.
The 02960452 is designed for general-purpose external and internal turning, boring, and facing on CNC lathes and turning centers. Primary workpiece material is steel (ISO material group P: P10, P20, P30, P35). Secondary workpiece materials include stainless steel (group M) and cast iron (group K). The MR7 chip breaker geometry handles a broad range of depths of cut up to 0.4764 inches and is effective across roughing and semi-finishing passes where chip control in steel and stainless is a priority. The insert is held by clamp, pin, or lever lock methods depending on the toolholder configuration.

Installation is performed by machinists or toolroom technicians on CNC or manual turning equipment. Power down and lock out the spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torque wrench and manufacturer-specified screw torque for the toolholder clamping system — do not over-tighten the clamp screw, as carbide inserts are brittle and will crack under excessive clamping force. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before seating a new edge.
