The SECO 02960021 is a solid carbide turning insert in the DNMG432-FF2 series, designed for precision material removal on CNC lathes and turning centers. It features a 55-degree diamond shape with a negative rake geometry and a honed cutting edge for consistent, controlled chip formation. The TP1501 grade uses a CVD-applied Duratomic multilayer coating — TiCN, Al2O3, and Cr — that delivers thermal stability and wear resistance during interrupted and continuous cuts. With four usable cutting edges and a 0.5 inch inscribed circle, this insert offers extended tool life in high-volume production environments. It is installed by machinists and CNC operators working in job shop and production turning applications.
This insert is suited for turning, facing, back turning, and boring operations on steel as its primary workpiece material, and cast iron and hard materials as secondary targets. The FF2 chip breaker geometry is optimized for finishing and light roughing passes where chip control is critical. It conforms to both ANSI and ISO standards, with the ISO code DNMG150408-FF2, making it a direct fit for standard DNMG-style toolholders that use clamp, pin, or lever lock holding methods.
