The SECO 02959938 is a DNMG432-M3 series indexable turning insert manufactured from solid carbide with a multi-layer CVD Duratomic coating consisting of TiCN, Al2O3, and Cr. It carries manufacturer grade TP0501 and is designed for general turning operations on steel and cast iron workpieces. The insert features a 55-degree diamond shape with a negative rake angle and a chamfered and honed cutting edge for improved edge stability. With four usable cutting edges and compatibility with clamp, pin, and lever lock holding systems, it is a practical choice for production turning environments. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install this insert on turning centers, lathes, and boring setups.
This insert is suited for back turning, boring, facing, and general turning applications in both residential shop and industrial production settings. Its primary workpiece material designation is Steel (ISO code P), with Cast Iron (ISO code K) as the secondary target material. The M3 chip breaker geometry is optimized for medium-duty cuts. The insert conforms to ANSI and ISO standards and carries ISO code DNMG150408-M3 with industry standard number DNMG432-M3, making it a direct fit for toolholders designed around that geometry.
Designed for use in DNMG432 / DNMG150408 toolholders that accept clamp, pin, or lever lock insert retention. Compatible with operations targeting Steel (ISO P01, P10) and Cast Iron (ISO K) workpiece materials. Multi-use tool rated for back turning, boring, facing, and turning applications.
Insert installation and indexing should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine powered down and the spindle locked. Use the appropriate torque wrench and manufacturer-specified clamp hardware for the toolholder series to ensure proper seating. Inspect the insert pocket for debris or damage before seating a new insert. Do not exceed the maximum depth of cut rating for the insert and toolholder combination.
