The SECO 02959936 is a solid carbide turning insert in the DNMG-M3 series, designed for precision metal removal in CNC and manual turning applications. Conforming to the DNMG431-M3 industry standard, this insert features a 55-degree diamond shape with a negative rake angle and a 0-degree relief angle. The TP1501 grade substrate is CVD-coated with a TiCN, Al2O3, and Cr Duratomic multilayer coating, optimized for wear resistance and thermal stability during continuous and interrupted cuts in steel and cast iron. With 4 cutting edges per insert and a chamfered and honed cutting edge style, this insert delivers consistent performance across high-volume production runs. It is sold individually but requires a minimum order of 10 pieces.
This insert is suited for medium to roughing steel turning operations in manufacturing and machining environments. Primary workpiece material is steel (ISO material code P), with secondary suitability for cast iron and hard materials (ISO codes K and H). Supported applications include turning, facing, boring, and back turning. The M3 chip breaker geometry is engineered for reliable chip control across a range of depths of cut, making it appropriate for general-purpose turning on CNC lathes in job shop and production settings. Licensed machinists and CNC operators are the typical end users for this insert.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement insert for DNMG toolholders accepting 431-size inserts with clamp, pin, or lever lock holding methods. Conforms to ANSI and ISO standards for DNMG inserts. Industry standard number DNMG431-M3, ISO code DNMG150404-M3.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC operators. Power down and lock out the machine before changing inserts. Seat the insert fully and squarely in the pocket and verify the clamping mechanism is fully engaged before resuming cuts. Do not exceed the recommended depth of cut for the toolholder and insert combination in use.
