The SECO 02959924 is a solid carbide turning insert in the CNMG-M3 series, designed for precision metal removal in steel, stainless steel, and cast iron applications. It carries the industry standard designation CNMG643-M3 and ISO code CNMG190612-M3. The insert features a CVD-applied Duratomic multilayer coating consisting of TiCN, Al2O3, and Cr, which supports thermal resistance and edge wear. The 80-degree diamond shape provides a strong cutting geometry with a neutral hand orientation, making it suitable for boring, facing, and turning operations. This is a multi-tipped insert with 4 cutting edges and a chamfered and honed cutting edge style for controlled entry into the workpiece.
This insert is suited for medium to roughing cuts in ISO P (steel) material grades P10 through P35, with secondary capability in ISO M (stainless steel) and ISO K (cast iron). The M3 chip breaker geometry is optimized for moderate feed rates and general-purpose turning applications in both production and job-shop environments. The insert is held via clamp, pin, or lever lock methods, making it compatible with a wide range of CNMG-style toolholders used in CNC lathes and boring bars. This part is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 10 units.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement insert for CNMG-style toolholders accepting CNMG643 geometry inserts per ANSI and ISO standards. Compatible with boring, facing, and turning applications targeting steel (P10-P35), stainless steel, and cast iron workpiece materials.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians following standard CNC lathe or boring bar setup procedures.
