The SECO 02959913 is a CNMG432-M3 indexable turning insert manufactured from solid carbide and finished with a CVD-applied Duratomic multilayer coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and Cr. It carries manufacturer grade TP1501 and is designed for negative-rake material removal in external turning, facing, and boring operations. The 80-degree diamond insert shape provides two usable point angles per edge, and four cutting edges per insert maximize tooling economy. Corner radius measures 0.0315 inches, inscribed circle diameter is 0.5 inches, and insert thickness is 0.1874 inches. It is installed by licensed machinists and CNC operators on indexable toolholders in production and job-shop turning environments.
This insert is suited for steel as its primary workpiece material, with cast iron and hard materials as secondary applications. Material grades P10 and P20 define its cutting-speed and feed window, making it appropriate for medium-to-finish turning cuts. The M3 chipbreaker geometry is a general-purpose profile that handles a range of depths and feed rates across boring, facing, and turning applications. It meets both ANSI and ISO standards, carrying the ISO designation CNMG120408-M3 alongside the industry standard number CNMG432-M3.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit indexable insert for CNMG-style toolholders accepting a 1/2-inch inscribed circle, 80-degree diamond insert with N clearance and M tolerance, per ANSI and ISO standards.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC technicians following standard indexable-insert toolholder procedures. Power down and de-energize the machine tool before indexing or replacing the insert. Use the appropriate torque wrench and clamp hardware specified by the toolholder manufacturer; do not over-torque clamping screws. Verify seating and edge condition before returning the machine to service.
