The SECO 02959886 is a solid carbide turning insert in the DNMG432-M6 configuration, designed for general-purpose and multi-application CNC turning operations. It carries the TP1501 grade designation and features a CVD-applied Duratomic multilayer coating consisting of TiCN, Al2O3, and Cr for extended wear resistance and thermal stability. The 55-degree diamond insert shape (shape code D) provides a strong, versatile cutting geometry. With a negative rake angle, 0 degrees relief angle (clearance code N), and a honed cutting edge, this insert is built for controlled, stable cuts in demanding production environments. Four available cutting edges maximize tool life per insert.
This insert is suited for turning, facing, boring, and back turning operations on steel (ISO code P) as a primary workpiece material, with secondary capability on cast iron and hard materials (ISO codes K and H). It fits standard DNMG-style toolholders that accept clamp, pin, or lever lock holding methods. The M6 chip breaker geometry is engineered for medium-duty cuts and helps manage chip flow across a wide range of feed rates and depths of cut. Typical applications include production turning on CNC lathes in industrial and job-shop environments.
Designed for use in DNMG-style toolholders accepting clamp, pin, or lever lock holding methods. Suitable for turning, facing, boring, and back turning of steel, cast iron, and hard materials. Material grades P10 and P20.
Installation is performed by qualified CNC machinists or toolroom technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torque wrench and manufacturer-specified seating hardware for the toolholder system in use. Inspect the insert pocket for debris or damage before seating a new insert to ensure proper seating and prevent premature edge failure.
