The SECO 02959848 is a CNMG432-M6 indexable turning insert designed for general-purpose metal cutting in CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries the TP2501 grade with a Duratomic CVD multilayer coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and Cr applied over a carbide substrate. The 80-degree diamond shape and negative rake geometry provide strength across the cutting edge, while the M6 chip breaker geometry manages chip flow across a broad range of depths and feed rates. With four usable cutting edges per insert, this is a cost-efficient choice for production turning environments.

This insert is suited for roughing, semi-finishing, and finishing operations on steel, stainless steel, and cast iron workpieces, corresponding to ISO material groups P, M, and K. Recommended material grades are P10, P20, P30, and P35. The M6 chip breaker makes it effective in boring, facing, and turning applications. It is typically installed in toolholders that accept CNMG-style inserts using clamp, pin, or lever lock holding methods. The neutral hand orientation allows use in both right-hand and left-hand tooling setups.
